With crossbase, we can maintain our product information for print and online media in multiple languages in one place and make it available on a daily basis. By avoiding redundant data maintenance, the error rate during input is reduced, resources are saved and the data is automatically updated in all media.

i.safe MOBILE, based in Lauda-Königshofen with sales partners in 72 countries, is a provider of explosion-proof and extremely robust mobile communication devices and communication solutions. The devices meet the requirements of the chemical
pharmaceutical, petroleum processing, mining and other demanding industries and are tested to European and numerous standards through approval procedures. The owner-managed
company has set itself the goal of becoming the global market leader for communication solutions for potentially explosive atmospheres.
A PIM, MAM and cross-media solution was implemented for i.safe MOBILE based on the standard software crossbase with a connection to the ERP and CRM system.
In crossbase, the articles are classified in the product structure. This is based on the device sets with country-specific characteristics, which contain a set parts list. Technical characteristics can be maintained at both product and variant level - including the use of the inheritance concept. This ensures efficient data maintenance of all combinations and variants. Product relationships are also maintained, e.g. spare parts and accessories.
Country-specific approvals are maintained in a separate approval structure via
approval types. The device-specific approvals include approval texts and certificates. The approval process is supported: As soon as an approval has been "applied for", it can be maintained in the PIM system. If the status is changed to "approved", the device can be sold. If the requested approval does not meet the requirements, it can also be set to "rejected" status.
Media elements (including photos in various views, videos and documents) are managed in the integrated MAM on a product or approval-related basis. The image conversion integrated in crossbase is used for automatic preparation for print and Internet. The texts, including product descriptions and approval texts, are entered as continuous text or generated from text modules. The content is currently translated into up to 6 languages.
In order to be able to use the products in the print catalogs and online media, marketing-specific online media, marketing-specific product views and sales channels are maintained. A special feature of the website is the linking of product pages with industry solutions, applications and practical examples. This creates high added value for customers from the various sectors.
The data is made available to the online media via a REST API. Based on this, the commissioned advertising agency used the TYPO3 CMS to create a very appealing website with a comprehensive product presentation and product finder.
