Mathys Ltd Bettlach is an internationally active Swiss medical technology company with development and production sites in Switzerland and Germany as well as subsidiaries in ten countries. Since 2003, the company has focused exclusively on the development, manufacture and distribution of joint replacement products, including implants for the hip, knee and shoulder as well as synthetic bone replacement material. In 2021, Mathys and the American company Enovis™ joined forces. Enovis™ is the only company that offers products for the entire treatment spectrum - from pain management and stability enhancement to surgery and rehabilitation.
A PIM, MAM and cross-media solution was implemented for Mathys based on the crossbase standard software.
The articles are continuously imported with master data via a standard interface to the SAP ERP system. The master data is extensive and also includes classification data from SAP (material class, label and packaging data). In crossbase, the newly imported articles are classified in the product structure. Further technical characteristics are maintained for specific product groups, e.g. knee implants, knee instruments, shoulder implants, etc. In addition, product relationships are transferred from SAP, e.g. set components, and maintained additionally if necessary, e.g. optional set components and screen configurations.
The media elements, e.g. product photos in various views, key visuals, detailed photos. Views, key visuals, detailed photos, pictograms, drawings, documents, videos, are managed in the integrated MAM on a product or publication basis. The image conversion integrated in crossbase is used for automatic preparation for print and Internet (jpg, webp, svg, etc.). The texts, including material texts, product descriptions and other marketing texts, are entered as continuous text or generated from text modules and features. The content is translated into five languages.
Marketing-specific product views and product ranges are maintained for the relevant sales channels so that products can be used in printed catalogs and online media in all countries. The documents, e.g. the product catalog, are database-supported and automatically produced using the crossbase print engine and Adobe InDesign. The data for the online media is to be provided using the REST API.
More than 15 people from marketing, product management, visual design and translation are involved in the process according to a finely tuned authorization system. The approval processes and the archive server play a particularly important role in the course of the regulatory requirements (MDR). Data maintenance is supported by workflow tasks and reporting.
